Do any other Blogspotters find that uploading photos takes an obscene amount of time? I've done it at work once (shhhhh!) and it was instant (was off work duties for under a minute!) but at home, having now tried on two computers and using two modems, but one ADSL connection, it takes like fifteen minutes. It's like dial-up city around here...
Any ideas? Suggestions?

Use flickr! Once you upload to flickr it's a piece of pie to embed your photos in your blog (takes two seconds) and if you ever get tired of blogging (please don't) you won't have to individually re-upload all your photos again if you want to use them. Heaps of other flickr goodness too, like you'll never run out of storage (I think blogger has a maximum?).
Yeah, what Lisa said! Are you uploading straight to your blog or embedding?
I take pics, upload them to my pc, edit/resize them, upload to flickr and then when I do my blog I do all the words and then I use the picture button, go to flickr, click on photo then right click on photo, choose properties, copy the link and then paste that into the url section that pops up after clicking the photo button on your blog. Then I just drag em where I want them to go, respace all the wording if it gets messed up and I'm done.
If you are doing that and it's still happening maybe you need faster internets? Sometimes the net lags no matter how fast your connection is though.
I always export them using a free program called picasso and at the same time make them smaller.
Thanks guys! I've just opened a Flickr account - it's slow to upload to it but hopefully it'll be heaps quicker to transfer over here.
i think i need to do that too. it always takes me a ridiculous amount of time to upload photos. plus blogspot sucks, right toby?
Mandee, I don't even bother resizing them before I load to flickr (I also don't edit, though I'd like for none of you bloggers to take my lazy example on that front). Once your photo is uploaded to flickr if you open the photo and click on 'all sizes' it will come up with a range of options, from thumbnail to large, so that each photo you post on your blog will be generic in size. Not that I'm anti randomly-shaped photos, or anything. I like chaos!
Ok, so I tried wuite a few times...
1. selected little photo button on post page.
2. went to flickr. copied URL of photo i wanted (can't right click ... haven't workd it out on a mac yet! is this where i'm going wrong?)
3. put URL into the URL line in the little photo popup from blogger.
4. pressed the button to make it all happen
5. the screen saying 'your photos are being uploaded to blogger' came up
6. that little screen then quickyl said "done"
7. pressed done
8. no photo on blog. repeatedly.
what am i doing???
I find an easier way to post is to get onto the photo page by clicking on the photo you want. Then click on the 'all sizes' button at the top. Then choose the size photo you want. It will come up with two addresses - one is just the image url of the photo, one is the full html code for blog posting. I'm guessing you use text editor to edit your blog, so I'd click the image url of the photo, copy it, then go to your blog. Select 'insert image' and paste the url into the square provided. If it remains elusive (I'm not all there with blogspot), bring your lappy to pizza on Sunday and I'll figure out the best/quickest way for you there!
By the way, right click - apple key + mouse click (and there are loads of excellent shortcuts to learn too).
Ahhh, you are my blogging hero! Will give it a go tonight.
